Our Story

The year 2020 was a tough year for all of us, but for our family, it was devastating. In October 2020, I decided to take my two oldest boys, ages nine and eleven at the time, on their first dirtbike adventure. During our first day, we all had a wonderful time riding in the beautiful scenery of Moab, Utah. However, the experience quickly changed from wonderful to tragic during a ride that evening. In a large sand wash on our way back to camp, a small rock protruded above the sand by just a few inches, and I unknowingly hit it dead on. The result was that I was thrown off the bike, disoriented, and unable to see the ground. When the motorcycle and my body finally came to a stop, I lay there motionless. In the dark of the night, I assessed my injuries and quickly realized that I was unable to move the majority of my body. Even breathing was difficult. In that moment, I knew my life was about to change forever.

After being life-flighted to the hospital, we received the news that I had broken my neck and that the damage to my spinal cord was very severe. I was likely never going to walk again. It felt as though our lives had exploded. All of our dreams and hopes shattered into pieces, blown apart by the harsh reality of the accident.

Amidst the unknowns and stresses that accompanied the injury, finances became a significant concern. The sheer number of financial considerations we faced was staggering. Questions about health insurance, disability benefits, federal and state programs—each one demanding answers. As a financial advisor, even I found dealing with these issues challenging.

After collaborating with legal and financial professionals, we now find ourselves on the other side of the equation. We understand the intricate details. Yet, I can’t help but reflect on how overwhelming this must be for families. My mission is clear: work to lighten the load and help alleviate stress from the shoulders of the injured, the disabled, and their caregivers. I want to help them feel confident about their financial future.

Passion drives me, for I’ve lived through it and continue to do so every day. Our team is here to guide you, providing clarity and support. Living with a disability can be incredibly tough and stressful, but if we can ease even one burden, we consider it a victory—a way to make a positive impact on lives.
